Differences Between Nightmares & Night Terrors

The Difference Between Nightmares and Night Terrors

Most parents know what it’s like to comfort their child after the occasional nightmare.  But what do you do when it’s a more alarming nightmare?  Could it be a night terror (or sleep terror)?  If your child’s fear is inconsolable, no matter what you’ve tried, it might be.

While I haven’t experienced this myself I know several friends who’ve had this discussion trying to determine what’s going on.  Tonight my husband shared a great article with me about the difference between nightmares and night terrors.  It even has a chart with symptoms and the corresponding strategies to help calm your child at night.  I’m pinning it on Pinterest and bookmarking it but I just had to share it with you too.  Visit to see this helpful article.

Ways to Pray for Your Husband

Ways to Pray for Your Husband

I must confess that I forget to pray for my husband more often than I like.  Yes, I think about him a lot, instant message him throughout the day, and anticipate his return in the evening…but pray?  I often forget.

I’m going to be purposeful about praying for my husband this week and I’d like for you to join with me.  At the top of each hour, spend a couple minutes {or more if you have time} praying specifically for him.  You can do this between the hours of 8 am and 1 pm or change it to suit your schedule.  Print this off as a reminder or write it out on a note card to keep with you.  I’m going to set a timer on my iPad to go off and remind me.  If you pray for your husband 6 times a day at 4 minutes each that’s 20 minutes of prayer a day, just for your husband!

8 am – Pray for his walk with the Lord.
9 am – Pray for God to bless him.
10 am – Pray for his friendships.
11 am – Pray for his vision and dreams.
12 am – Pray for his purity.
1 pm – Pray for him witness.

If you’re looking for a way to bless your husband, this is it.  Prayer is one of the best things we can to do help our spouses and it also helps us in return!

Will you join me this week?
